After touring 4 countries (5 cities) in 3 weeks, I was knackeredšŖ. It was time for my study tour and I was stressed from back to back travels. Out of the 3 days I spent in Geneva, I slept for 2š¤£. On the last day, I had to drag myself out for a “tour” and I’m glad that I didš¤.
The touring idea I had was to visit maybe 2 spots, just to certify that I actually visited Geneva or at the very least, take a stroll around my environment especially because I had no plan or idea on where to visit asidesĀ the placeĀ Mebeth recommended, and I was too lazy to do any research.Ā
Before the “stroll”, I needed to recharge my “energy”, so my first goal was getting something to eatš. I found an African restaurant (“La Couronne” on Rue Sisimond street) and I was so happy. I ate and had a nice time. The food and music were great!
It was time to begin my tour/ stroll. After highlighting from the first bus, I was walking towards the next bus-stop when I got to a place that felt so familiar. In order to certify the familiarity of where I was currently at, I stopped, looking around, trying to make a sense of why or how that place felt familiar. Few minutes later, I saw some Flix Buses. At that sight, I remembered that in 2022, on my way to Germany with Flix Bus, we had a stopover at Geneva . At that stop in 2022, a vivid memory was the MONTBLANC Building (read context here). So as to confirm my thoughts, I looked out for that building. When I found it, I was genuinely and from within, very excited. This was a full circle moment for me! Out of excitement, I took a picture to always remember the story.
Afterwards, I continued my journey to my first tourist stop – the Geneva Fountain. Getting there, I was enamored by the beauty and luxury of the streetš.
Sequel to the fountain, the day was still young and I wasn’t ready to retire to the hostel. So, I checked google maps for recommendation regarding my next stop and got a place – I canāt remember the name . On getting there, it felt like the wrong way as the vicinity didn’t make much sense. It seemed deserted, so I left.
By this time, it was sunset but I still wasn’t ready to retire home so I asked for more recommendations from google maps. Google maps recommended a Flower Clock stop. When I got there, I realized it was close to the fountain I had visited earlier and instantly became pained.
I was pained not only because I stressed to visit location 2 that was futile, but also because itās now dark and I wasn’t able to get nice pictures at the flower clock. Few minutes later, I decided to be happy and eventually took some pictures for memories sake even if they weren’t going to be “picture perfect”.
After touring the flower clock area, took few steps around and retired to the hostel , calling it a day and the end to my Geneva tourismš.
I did enjoy my stay at Geneva. No regrets about sleepingš¤. During my visit, I stayed at GENEVA HOSTEL and sure had an amazing experience there.Ā
Personal Review on Geneva Hostel as I loved every bit of my stay
- The hostel is not far from the airport and pretty much close to so many places
- The breakfast made a lot sense that I never missed it for a day! Proper buffet and the meals were great!. I loved that there were so many fruits
- After my booking was confirmed, I got free e-transport voucher that covers your stay period. So I definitely recommend especially as a budget traveler.
- Amazing aesthetics and I loved the security that the lockers and bathroom had. You need your key to access bathrooms and lockers. Furthermore, the āsharedā bathroom have private spaces. Click here for video
Although, the hostel mentioned Mountain View as one of its perks, but didnāt see any thingš. I rate them give them 8/10.
