Today, I’m going to “throw back” to one of the messages I listened to on 26/03/2023 at Harvesters Gbagada, Nigeria on F.E.A.R.
Interestingly, I wrote on this topic Here in 2018
FALSE
EXPRESSION
ABOUT
REALITY
Maybe I heard this somewhere, or maybe I coined it, but this has been the best understanding of FEAR for me.
I constantly remind myself that whatever I’m scared of isn’t necessarily real, and I try to be as realistic and practical as possible.
Personally, I understand sources of F.E.A.R to be from:
- Past trauma (s)
- Insecurity
- Other people’s experiences
Honestly, the feeling of F.E.A.R is valid, but just because it’s valid doesn’t make it the best feeling. It’s okay to be scared, but it’s not okay to wallow in F.E.AR.
Isaiah 41:10 assures us of the fact that “we’re never walking alone”. I know it’s easier said than done, but taking little steps can make it easier. Put one foot forward before lifting the next, and it gets easier over time.
Now let’s get to my “THROW BACK” NOTE…….
TEXT :
2TIMOTHY 1:7,
MATTHEW 25:24-25
Excuses are the nails you use to build the house of failure. Why Excuses? Because fear breeds them. Fear gives you reasons not to do something or take a particular action.
Why you should break the power of FEAR
- Fear unnecessarily magnifies your problem.
- It opens door to negative influences.
- Fear restricts and prevents you from LIVING in the present, as you’re either worried of past reoccurrences or future uncertainties.
How do you break the power of FEAR
subtext: Rom 10:17
- Build your faith
- Cut the source of your fear(s)
- Surround yourself with positive yet realistic “gingers”
Dear Reader,
Today is a good day to face what you’re scared of (and this is me talking to myself too). What’s the worst that can happen? It might not work out.
If that happens, you feel the pain and grief, dust yourself off and move on. It always gets better for sure!
I’m rooting for you💪!
