Everything aligns, and it’s just so funny – even down to your interests! I wrote about the connection here. Maybe I’m just being unnecessarily deep (who cares🤷♀️), but I’m happy🤭.
It’s almost no news to my tribe that I love COLOURS and FLOWERS. They’re part of the core of my being.
GIST 1
I’ve always loved flowers in pictures and prints because they beautify everything. They just make things special🎁. So, I’m such a floral girly.
Not like you asked but I’ve received flowers three times 🤭- twice from my sister.
The first time my sister gave me flowers was when I went to visit her. It was unexpected, so I was very happy about the PINK flower😉. Back then, I wasn’t so crazy about the “plant” itself but I knew of flowers types like dandelions, tulips, sunflowers, roses etc. Receiving the flower from her and in THAT colour, my joy was majorly about the thoughtfulness from her. P.S: She’s veryyy sweet😘.
When I received flowers from a guy, I was happy, loved it and genuinely appreciated the effort. I told him “Do you know I just love the concept of flowers🥺 and the love for the plant is just growing on me because they smell ‘raw’😂😂” .
The second time my sister gave me flowers, it was a bouquet for my MSc graduation! I loved it soooooo much. At this point, it was about the concept, the effort and now the plant!! By this time, I realized that the concept of loving flowers as a gift isn’t necessarily about the smell. It’s also about the love, consideration, thoughtfulness and mindfulness of the giver. The beauty of the flowers sitting in your home🥺 is amazing. Until the flowers died, I looked at them daily and was just so happy.
My experience with flowers made me understand how your interests grow on you. Sometimes you might not be a “particular interest” person but someone you love might make some interest grow on you or make you take an interest in things you never thought you would. In my case I’ve always been floral and a colours girly but the idea of receiving flowers and the beauty of the gesture grew on me which I’m so happy about.
So, you could say there was an inherent base to my interest, and that foundation was built upon by my loved ones and I see it growing🥺. Also, maybe my change of environment also added to the love. Now I’m not a faux flower lover – I really love flowers🥺😍.
GIST 2
On the 5th of November 2024 I used my “last cash” to buy perfume😂 (very impulsive – I know but YOLO😝). I remember using girl maths to justify the purchase, saying “That’s my birthday gift to myself🤣”.
On the 6th of November 2024, while on the bed, I was so happy with my purchase that I decided to read up on fragrances and perfume layering. This is because I upgraded from buying Eau de Toilette to Eau de Parfum😂- I felt like a big girl. Anyways, while reading, I came across the fragrance wheel from a blogpost. Oh my!!!! My face lit up! Why? You may ask. Well, it’s because I instantly thought of the colour wheel!!!
I thought “I can feel like a perfume pro and relate perfume layering the same way I related my interests/career path to colour (Read Here)“.
Similar to colour wheel, the blog post mentioned how layering is best when the fragrances are complementary. I was overjoyed because, depending on how complex I want to be, the same way I can do Tetradic, Split Complementary, Monochromatic colour combination via the colour wheel, I can apply same to my fragrances. When I tell you I was ecstatic, I’m underestimating my joy.
For layering context, your layering can be:
- Complementary say Floral and Citrus or Floral and Moody wood
- Monochromatic say Green, Water and Citrus
- Split Complementary say Aromatic, Mossy wood and Floral oriental
- Triadic say Soft floral, Citrus and Oriental
- Tetradic say Soft and Woody Oriental with Citrus and Green
For my signature fragrance, maybe I’ll be sticking to florals😂 – probably because their bottles are always pink😉.

If you ask me the point of this write up, honestly, I don’t know🤣. I guess I’m just leaving my experiences here for my future self and inviting you to read about them.
Although, if anything, I hope from my lens, you see how interests evolve, how the people around you shape them, and how it all comes together beautifully. Also, if you are on the other side, I hope it inspires you to keep being sweet and good to people because sometimes you lay foundation of good things in the life of others. It can be painful, but I think it’s ok and a part of life if the “spark” from your foundation doesn’t blossom while you’re in the picture. At least you made an impact in someone’s life – This is how I view my good deeds.
Again- they all connect, they add up eventually – your good deeds down to your interests!
